Casey's Offers Nickel Off Ethanol Purchases

Johnston, Iowa -- Two Casey’s General Store locations in West Des Moines and Newton, Iowa, held a nickel discount deal Friday as part of an Iowa Corn Promotion Board push to promote ethanol fuel purchases.

Customers at the two stations received a 5-cent per gallon discount on their ethanol purchases and could register for $250 worth of free fuel. The promotion kicks off race week before the Iowa Corn Indy 250 at the Iowa Speedway on June 21.

Other special prizes, including the chance to win a ride in an Indy car or tickets to Iowa Corn Indy 250, will be awarded.

"We want consumers to celebrate with ethanol promotions prior to the Iowa Corn Indy 250. The race will be at the Iowa Speedway on Sunday, June 21," said Shannon Textor, Iowa Corn marketing director. "We're proud that 100 percent of locally produced Iowa ethanol is used in the race. We want all consumers to recognize the advantages of using corn ethanol."
