CEFCO Holds Annual "Hackers-R-Us" Charity Golf Tournament
SALADO, Texas -- CEFCO Convenience Stores hosted the ninth annual CEFCO "Hackers-R-Us" Charity Golf Tournament at Mill Creek Golf Club in Salado, Texas, which has experienced year-over-year growth in participation and donations since its inception, the company reported.
Thanks to CEFCO's vendor sponsors and tournament participants, funds were raised to benefit Children's Miracle Network, as well as Texas institutions of higher learning through the C.E. Fikes Endowed Scholarship Fund.
Combined with store level fund raising efforts, CEFCO was pleased to present Children's Miracle Network with a total donation of $145,000, as well as endowments of $25,000 each to Temple College and The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.
"CEFCO is an integral part of the communities we serve, and we feel compelled to give back in as many ways as possible," James Fikes, CEFCO's owner and CEO, said in a released statement. "Through the generosity of our customers and business partners, CEFCO was able to make a sizable donation to some very worthwhile causes are near and dear to our hearts."
The donations will fund critical pediatric medical care and research, as well as higher learning scholarship opportunities for people throughout the areas that CEFCO is proud to serve, according to the company.
