Chevron Crowns Game Day Chef Champion
SAN RAMON, Calif. — Jennifer Daskevich won $25,000 in Chevron promotional cards in the Chevron Game Day Chef Challenge grand finale cook-off, which took place Jan. 1 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif. She prepared her winning recipe, Cashew Fried Chicken Sliders with Rootbeer Bacon Jam, for a panel of celebrity judges prior to the game kickoff.
The cooking contest launched in August when football fans and foodies in Arizona, California, Oregon and Washington could submit their go-to game day recipe at www.TheGameDayChef.com. Each recipe was required to include a food or beverage item purchased at a Chevron or Texaco station.
Five regional winners advanced to the grand finale cook-off:
- Suzanne Clark, Arizona
- Erin Marie Williams, Oregon
- Jessica Neill Hoyson, Washington
- Matt Thorpe, northern California
- Jennifer Daskevich, southern California
Finalists had one hour to prepare and cook their recipe for the judging panel, which scored the dishes based on taste, appearance, originality and creativity, along with the number of mandatory ingredients used. Fans at the event were also able to vote by texting in for their favorite recipe.
