Chevron Pledges $3 Million to Hurricane Recovery

SAN RAMON, Calif. -- With the Gulf Coast still reeling from Hurricanes Ike, Hanna and Gustav, Chevron Corp. is pledging $3 million to support recovery efforts there.

"Our thoughts are with our employees and the communities who have been affected by the hurricanes," Dave O’Reilly, chairman and chief executive officer of Chevron Corp., said in a statement. "The need for urgent assistance as well as long-term aid is clear, and Chevron and our employees will continue to look for ways to support our communities in these difficult times."

The funds will be distributed to the Red Cross, Save the Children, Feeding America and the Pan American Development Foundation. These charity organizations support Gulf communities as well as Caribbean residents, where Chevron has marketing operations under the Texaco brand.
