Cheyenne International CEO Bill Greiwe Passes Away
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Cheyenne International is mourning the passing of its CEO Bill Greiwe.
Greiwe, 62, died Aug. 31 at his home. Born in Defiance, Ohio, he received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hiram College in Hiram, Ohio, and a Master of Business Administration from Golden Gate University in San Francisco.
As CEO of Cheyenne International, Greiwe was active in all aspects of the business, including marketing, product design and lobbying. Cheyenne International was founded in 2002 as a full-line tobacco product manufacturer.
"It is with much sadness that we announce that William J. Greiwe, CEO, passed away suddenly on Aug. 31. Bill is one of Cheyenne’s founding partners and served as its CEO since the company’s inception. Our thoughts and prayers are with Bill’s wife Janet and his entire family," the company stated.
Greiwe is survived by his wife of 27 years, Janet B. Greiwe; children, Ashley and Andrew; sister, Mary Thomsen; and brother, James Greiwe. Memorials may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
