Circle K Renews Contract with KSS, FuelQuest

TEMPE, Ariz. -- Circle K Stores expanded an existing agreement with KSS's PriceNet fuel price management system to include 71 additional retail locations recently acquired in the St Louis and New England markets.

KSS CEO Bob Stein explained that the management solution focuses on retail fuels pricing, from capturing field-based intelligence at the site level to the generation of price proposals, and optimization.

"We are excited that Circle K continues its PriceNet expansion across North America. With current demand for gasoline low and price volatility high, it’s important to have reliable analysis tools that quickly help retailers like Circle K identify and evaluate competition, make informed pricing decisions and quickly enact changes to pricing strategies," Stein said in a statement.

In related technology news, Circle K announced it has renewed a six-year contract with FuelQuest Inc. and its Fuel Management System (FMS).

"After performing a comprehensive review of our fuel program as part of our ongoing business strategy analysis, we moved quickly to solidify our long-term relationship with FuelQuest," Brian Hannasch, senior vice president of U.S. operations for Couche-Tard, said in a statement. "We have been pleased with both the value we have received from FuelQuest’s solutions and their willingness to collaborate as true partners to solve our fuel management challenges."

Matt Tormollen, executive vice-president of FuelQuest’s Fuel Management System (FMS), noted the agreement will provide Circle K with comprehensive, end-to-end supply chain solution focused on reducing the cost of procuring, managing and accounting for bulk fuel. He added that FMS powers the largest fuel management network in North America with more than 15 billions gallons managed annually.

"This latest extension of our relationship reflects the hard work from both Circle K’s and FuelQuest’s teams to enable new business models and expand the breadth and depth of Circle K's fuel supply network," Tormollen said in a statement. "We will continue to focus on driving the value of our solutions within Circle K and across the Couche-Tard family while providing the world-class support our customers appreciate."
