CITGO Launches Second Annual Education Promotion

HOUSTON -- CITGO Petroleum Corp. announced the creation of its second annual Fueling Education Promotion, a program that offers teachers, student teachers and members of parent-teacher associations and organizations the chance to win $1,000 in school supplies for their classrooms.

Now through Oct. 19, eligible kindergarten through12th-grade public school educators can visit the Fueling Good Facebook page at www.facebook.com/CITGOFuelingGood to register. Seven winners will be randomly selected each week during the 12-week campaign to receive $1,000 in school supplies from National School Supplies. Winners will be announced weekly beginning in August.

"Education is a core philosophy for CITGO, as every investment we make in the education and well-being of our kids is an investment in the future of our neighborhoods and communities," said Rafael Gomez, vice president of government and public affairs for CITGO Petroleum Corp. "CITGO is proud to support students and teachers as part of the Fueling Education Program. Through this rewarding initiative, hundreds of young minds will benefit from enriched educational opportunities at important stages in their development."

A total of 84 winners will be selected for the prizes, comprising three winners each from the 27 states in which CITGO operates, as well as the District of Columbia. Winners can select from more than 25,000 products for their classrooms and the supplies will be shipped directly to their schools, according to CITGO.

Houston-based CITGO Petroleum Corp. is a refiner, transporter and marketer of transportation fuels, lubricants, petrochemicals and other industrial products. The company is owned by PDV America Inc., an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A., the national oil company of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
