CITGO & ZipLine Partner on Check Card Launch

HOUSTON — CITGO Petroleum Corp. has entered a partnership with ZipLine to launch the CITGO Check Card, a debit/ACH payment program that combines rewards with payments at the pump and in-store.

Customers can save 1 percent on purchases at all CITGO locations each time they swipe the card. They can enroll at any location.

"CITGO seeks to bring value to the consumer while lowering payment card processing fees to the retailer," commented Alan Flagg, assistant vice president, supply & marketing at CITGO. "The CITGO Check Card accomplishes both of those objectives."

By leveraging the low-cost ACH platform as the form of payment, retailers save on credit card fees with real-time consumer savings and rewards, ZipLine said.

"We are very pleased with our CITGO partnership, and we’re proud that the CITGO team has placed its confidence in ZipLine. CITGO has built tremendous brand equity and consumer loyalty and we believe our product will help to deepen those connections," Stephen Goodrich, CEO of ZipLine, stated.

Coconut Creek, Fla.-based Zipline is a provider of mobile and card-based consumer ACH payments to the convenience store industry.

CITGO, headquartered in Houston, is a refiner, transporter and marketer of transportation fuels. The company is owned by CITGO Holding Inc., an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of Petróleos de Venezuela SA, the national oil company of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
