CoGo's Expands Retail Format

CoGo's Co., operator of 100 convenience stores in Pennsylvania and Maryland, reached a deal with East Freedom, Pa.-based Schneider & Speck Rentals to acquire the Freedom Junction Travel Plaza in Pennsylvania. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
As part of the deal, CoGo's said it would completely remodel and upgrade the site before rebranding it CoGo's. The renovations is expected to be completed by April 2002., said Carl Colteryahn, president and CEO of CoGo's CO.
Construction on the unit is expected to begin shortly after CoGo's takes possession of the site Jan. 1. Following the construction, Colteryahn said the plaza would feature BP fuel and Subway sandwiches.
