College-Themed Promo Pushes BP Driver Rewards Program
CHICAGO -- BP Products North America is going back to college with its latest promotion to increase registration for the BP Driver Rewards program and build loyalty.
From now through Nov. 30, the company is hosting a series of "Fan Fest Tailgates" at more than 40 college campuses across the country to support its rewards program. Fans can take part in games such as "bags" and spin the wheel on an iPad to win BP gift cards and other prizes. Street teams will also distribute Driver Rewards cards to attendees and help them register for the program on the spot, giving motorists a chance to save instantly on their next BP visit.
"Football season is a great time of year, so we are really thrilled to contribute to fans' college football experience with 'Fan Fest Tailgates,'" said Jo Brecknock, BP's director of brand and communications. "By registering for BP Driver Rewards, fans can save at the pump while traveling to watch their favorite team."
After games, street teams will move to local BP stations near stadiums to sign up even more drivers and encourage them to register for the Ultimate College Football Sweepstakes sponsored by Sports Illustrated. The sweepstakes offers BP Drivers Rewards members the chance to win two tickets to a 2013 or 2014 regular season college football game of their choice, along with hotel accommodations for two nights and three days, and a $250 BP gift card.
The sweepstakes runs through Nov. 30, with 10 winners to be announced on Dec. 16. Consumers must be a BP Driver Rewards member and least 18 years old to enter the sweepstakes.
Members of the BP Driver Rewards program earn rewards on fuel purchases at participating BP stations. They:
- Earn an instant reward of 10 cents per gallon upon registration.
- Earn 5 cents per gallon for every 20 gallons of fuel purchased following a minimum of two transactions.
- Earn on all grades of quality BP gasoline with Invigorate and BP Diesel.
