ConAgra Recalls Pot Pies
OMAHA, Neb. -- To ensure consumer safety, ConAgra Foods voluntarily recalled all varieties of its Banquet brand frozen pot pies and all varieties of store brand frozen pot pies, as the company was notified its products might be linked to a salmonella outbreak, the company stated.
Last week, ConAgra was contacted by state health officials that stated some of its Banquet poultry pot pie products could be linked to an outbreak of salmonella, and on Oct. 9, the company worked in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) by directing retailers to remove the poultry pot pies from shelves, suspended production in its Marshall, Mo., plant and advised consumers to discard the products while an investigation was conducted, the company stated.
As the investigation continues, ConAgra expanded the voluntary recall to include all Banquet and store brand pot pie varieties, including Albertson's, Hill Country Fare, Food Lion, Great Value, Kirkwood, Kroger, Meijer and Western Family.
The expanded recall includes all Banquet pot pie varieties, including poultry and beef.
