Convenience Distribution Association Changes Gov't Affairs Approach
RESTON, Va. — Convenience Distribution Association (CDA) has turned to a veteran government and public policy professional to bolster its legislative work.
According to the association, it has engaged Shannon Campagna, senior policy advisor at Alston & Bird, to be responsible for strategic government relations counsel and stakeholder outreach.
"As CDA continues its deliberate approach to strengthen and enhance benefits to its members, we are confident that Shannon and the team at Alston & Bird will enable us to achieve the association’s goals and objectives," said Kimberly Bolin, CDA president and CEO.
Campagna joined Alston & Bird’s Legislative & Public Policy Group in January. She previously served as the director of federal government affairs for Mars Inc., building on a successful career in public policy that included positions with Safeway Inc., Retail Industry Leaders Association and National Beer Wholesalers Association.
She began her more than 25-year career in the office of U.S. Rep. Mel Hancock (R-Mo.), a member of the House Ways and Means Committee.
"In addition to having Shannon’s expertise in our toolbox, this industry is fortunate to have a network of extremely capable and engaged leadership in state and regional associations, too," Bolin said. "We all benefit from collaboration and engagement."
Headquartered in Reston, CDA is the national trade association working on behalf of convenience products distributors. Associate members include leading convenience product manufacturers, brokers, suppliers and others allied to the industry.
