Corner Store Offers New Eats & Treats for Winter

SAN ANTONIO — Corner Store convenience stores are offering new treats and other food items this winter. Starting Dec. 2, customers will be able to enjoy the seasonal items across all dayparts.

Peppermint whoopie pie bites with chocolate cake and peppermint blast sprinkles are available at $1.99 for a five-pack, while a red velvet whoopee pie with cream cheese icing goes for 99 cents each. Customers can also cozy up with peppermint mocha cappuccino in a signature holiday mug.

On the savory side, consumers can fill up on a hot kolache with maple-flavored premium pork breakfast sausage, or Picadillo Norteño puff pies that include seasoned ground beef, carrots and potatoes stuffed inside buttery, flaky pie dough, the retailer said.

"Nothing says 'holidays' like crunchy, sweet peppermint, and we wanted to showcase flavors in our winter menu that would help our customers get in the spirit of the season," said Richard Poye, director of foodservice for Corner Store.

The new eats are part of Corner Store's signature line of Fresh Choices foods baked or prepared fresh in the store's kitchen. Other Fresh Choices items include sausage kolaches made with sweet bread, cookies, doughnuts, and breakfast tacos on homemade tortillas.

Corner Store is the U.S. operating banner of CST Brands Inc., an independent retailer of motor fuels and convenience merchandise in North America. Its portfolio includes nearly 1,900 locations throughout the southwestern United States and eastern Canada.
