CSN Webcast to Explore Changing Fuels Landscape

JERSEY CITY, N.J. -- The fuels landscape is changing more than ever before and will continue to do so for at least the next decade. With that in mind, Convenience Store News will present a webcast on Wednesday, June 11 entitled, "Fueling the Future: The Changing Landscape of Fuels and What It Means to Your Business."

This forward-looking webcast, sponsored by Growth Energy, will look at such alternative fuels as compressed natural gas (CNG) and E15, as well as electric-powered vehicles. An all-star group of presenters has already been confirmed for the free, hour-long event, set to take place June 11 at 2 p.m. ET.

Offering insights will be special guest speaker Dr. Andrew L. Randolph, engine technical director at ECR Engines. Dr. Randolph has served General Motors and NASCAR for 28 years, with his work ranging from fundamental engine research to mass-production engine development.

Dr. Randolph will be followed by Lance Klatt, executive director of the Minnesota Service Station & Convenience Store Association (MSSA). Klatt has seen nearly everything in his 20-year career in the petroleum/convenience store industry. In the past year, MSSA has marketed a new brand of gasoline at the Minnesota Independent Oil Co. that allows independent c-store retailers to control an exclusive brand, including many grades of gasoline.

Presenting last, but certainly not least, will be Mike O'Brien, vice president of market development for Growth Energy, an ethanol advocacy group. O'Brien has spent his entire career introducing new products to the market, including the first generation of biotech crops. He currently works with an array of top retailers including 7-Eleven Inc., Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and Whole Foods Market LP.

Brian Berk, managing editor of Convenience Store News, will serve as moderator for the webcast.
