JERSEY CITY, N.J. — Convenience Store News, the c-store industry’s leading media brand, is pleased to announce the creation of the Top Women in Convenience Advisory Board, a group of industry executives that will provide direction and feedback for the CSNews Top Women in Convenience awards.

Launched as an industry-first last year, the Top Women in Convenience awards recognize women who are making great contributions to their companies and the convenience retail industry at large.

The inaugural advisory board consists of last year’s Women of the Year award recipients, along with CSNews’ program partner, the Network of Executive Women, as well as key supplier representatives committed to promoting diversity in the c-store industry.

The 2015 Top Women in Convenience Advisory Board consists of:

  • Kim Lubel, chairman, president and CEO of CST Brands Inc.
  • Allison Moran, CEO of RaceTrac Petroleum Inc.
  • Gwen Forman, vice president of marketing at Cumberland Farms Inc.
  • Barbara Poremba, vice president of national retail sales for the Foodservice in Retail Center of Excellence by Coca-Cola Refreshments
  • Jennifer Rhoads, president and CEO of the Ohio Petroleum Marketers and Convenience Store Association
  • Joan Toth, president and CEO of the Network of Executive Women (NEW)
  • Blake Benefiel, director of Trade & State Relations, Training & Compliance for Altria Group Distribution Co.
  • Beth Jarocki, customer vice president, C-store Channel, at Kraft Foods Group

In addition to the creation of the advisory board, the 2015 Top Women in Convenience awards program will include an exclusive career development and mentorship series of editorial content developed in conjunction with the Network of Executive Women that will run online and in print later this year.

This year, the program is also being expanded to include more awards categories, including: Women of the Year, Senior-Level Leaders, Rising Stars, Mentors, Store Managers and Single-Store Owners.

Top Women in Convenience nominees must either work for a convenience store retail company or a wholesaler or supplier directly serving the convenience store industry

Nominations should be based on achievements during the previous 12 months and illustrate a candidate’s innovative corporate initiatives, extraordinary financial and strategic accomplishments, astute problem-solving acumen, exceptional performance and selfless charitable participation, among other attributes that go above and beyond the call of duty.

There is no limit to the number of nominations one individual or company can make. Judging will be conducted by CSNews in conjunction with the Network of Executive Women.

The deadline for nominations is April 3. All winners will be notified by the end of April and will be prominently recognized on www.csnews.com and in the June issue of Convenience Store News.
