<i>CSNews</i> Named Folio Finalist
NEW YORK -- Convenience Store News has been named a finalist in Folio's Editorial Excellence Awards. The national Folio Show included CSNews among two finalists in the business-to-business Retailing Category. The Folio Show is being held in New York City from Oct. 28-30.
Folio, a magazine that covers the publishing industry, selected CSNews's Technology issue published April 2001. The issue featured a story exploring technologies of the future, along with an in-depth investigation on the tobacco category and several breaking stories affecting major convenience chains.
"It was one of the best issues of the year," said Michael Browne, executive editor of CSNews. "It covered the breadth of the convenience store industry from technology to tobacco, best marketing practices to the gasoline pump."
The nomination comes only days after CSNews Online was honored with the Standard of Excellence award in the 2002 WebAwards Competition sponsored by the Web Marketing Association (WMA). CSNews Online was recognized for its daily news, Web site design and interactive daily newsletter.
