CSNews Seeks Fuels & Tech Leader of the Year Nominations
JERSEY CITY, N.J. — Convenience Store News is accepting nominations for its annual Fuels & Technology Leadership Awards. Two awards — Fuels Leader of the Year and Technology Leader of the Year — will be presented this fall.
The Fuels Leader of the Year award recognizes a convenience store industry retailer (individual or company) who demonstrates exceptional vision and leadership in the development and marketing of innovative fuel solutions for its customers.
Last year’s winner was Dallas-based Alon USA Energy Inc., the largest licensee of 7-Eleven in the United States. Alon was honored specifically for its efforts to add carbon-neutral fueling stations in Texas and New Mexico via a collaboration with Greenprint LLC’s Strive program. (Delek US Holdings Inc. took full ownership of Alon USA on July 1, 2017.)
The Technology Leader of the Year award honors a convenience store retailer (company or individual) who demonstrates exceptional vision and innovation in the development and utilization of technology solutions for the good of their own organization and the industry as a whole.
Maria Fidelibus, QuickChek Corp.’s vice president of information technology, was the 2016 Technology Leader of the Year. Since Fidelibus joined QuickChek in December 2003, the retailer’s technology has evolved significantly, particularly around the growth of the foodservice category, mobile applications and ordering, and its entry into the fueling side of the business.
To submit a nomination, email Convenience Store News Editorial Director Don Longo at [email protected]. All nominations are due by Friday, Aug. 11.
Both retailers and suppliers may nominate a retail executive and/or retail company for either award; multiple nominations per person will be accepted. The entry process is free.
