CSNews Store Design Contest Entry Period Extended

JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The entry period for the 2014 Convenience Store News Store Design Contest has been extended. Retailers and design firms now have until July 31 to submit their entries.

This annual program recognizes new and rebuilt convenience stores that excel in such areas as interior layout, use and effectiveness of signage and logos, and exterior property and landscaping.

Awards will be presented separately to chains and single stores in six categories, based on the scope/cost of the project and the overall look of the store. Entries must include a handling fee of $125 for chains and $75 for single stores.

To be eligible for this year's contest, new construction or remodeling must have taken place between January 2013 and February 2014. Winners will be selected based on innovation, creativity and the positive impact of the design and/or remodel on the retailer's overall business.

This year's award categories include:

  • Best Original Design (new build)
  • Best Interior Design (new build)
  • Best "Green" Design
  • Best Low-Cost Remodel (less than $100,000)
  • Best Mid-Budget Remodel ($100,000 to $250,000)
