CSNews Wins Editorial, Art Excellence

NEW YORK -- Convenience Store News magazine was honored Tuesday night at the 2003 Celebration of Excellence Awards with the top honor in the business to business retail category. Claire Pamplin, editor-in-chief, accepted the Editorial Excellence Award, the "Eddie." The prestigious magazine industry awards are sponsored by Folio magazine.

CSNews also took home a silver Ozzie Award for magazine design excellence in the best use of typography category for its September 16, 2002 issue. Art Director Joy Childs accepted the honor at an awards dinner held at the New York Hilton.

Eddie Award entries are judged on how well magazines articulate their editorial mission statements, and winners are determined by comparing judges' evaluations of how each title fulfills its mission. Quality of content, and to a lesser degree, overall design and production also go into the decision-making.

More than 2,000 consumer and business-to-business magazines entered the Eddie Awards contest, and 1,600 entered the Ozzie competition.
