CSNews Wins Gold in Regional Journalism Competition
DEERFIELD, Ill. — Convenience Store News won gold in the 2016 Upper Midwest regional Azbee Awards competition, sponsored by the American Society of Business Press Editors (ASBPE). The CSNews editorial and research teams also took home a silver award for editorial excellence.
The convenience store industry’s No. 1 media brand won the gold for Best How-To Article for “How To Use Loyalty Programs to Drive Foodservice Sales,” written by Contributing Editor Maureen Azzato and published in March 2015. This article is part of CSNews’ popular “How To Do World-Class Foodservice” series.
CSNews also was recognized with a silver award for Best Original Research for “Industry Report: Getting Their Fill,” published in June 2015. Under the guidance of Research Director Debra Chanil, CSNews’ Industry Report is the longest-running, continuously published annual report on the health and performance of the convenience retail channel.
ASBPE’s annual competition recognizes the hard work and commitment of business-to-business and professional magazine, newsletter, and web editors and designers. The Azbee Award is a prestigious acknowledgement that the work has met high standards of excellence and is at the top of the profession. The society’s contest is extremely competitive and one of the largest U.S. business publication competitions.
CSNews’ editorial and research teams are also eligible to receive a gold, silver or bronze award in the national Azbee Awards competition, to be announced later this year.
Last year, CSNews won gold and silver editorial awards in the Upper Midwest regional Azbee Awards, and took home a silver award in the national competition. CSNews’ parent company, Stagnito Business Information + Edgell Communications, is based in Deerfield, Ill.
Over the past eight years, CSNews has won 19 other media industry editorial honors.
