'CSNews' Wins More Achievement Awards

NEW YORK -- Convenience Store News has struck gold again! This month, the convenience store industry’s most-decorated media brand added two more awards to its long list of achievements.

First, Ana Rodrigues, CSNews’ art director, won a Silver Award in the 2008 Create Awards competition for its "DaVinci Code" cover (July 2007 issue). Entries spanned the globe and the competition was judged by 20 leading professionals from eight creative industries. Only 361 awards were chosen out of more than 1,500 entries.

CSNews and Rodrigues also won a 2008 American Graphic Design Award for Best Cover Design. This award was for the Feb. 4, 2008 cover entitled, "Get Green." The recognition comes from American Graphic Design USA Magazine.

With these recognitions, the number of design awards won by Rodrigues over the past year total six. The others were:
-- 2008 Bronze Art Directors Club of New Jersey
-- 2008 Graphic Design USA Magazine In-house Design Award
-- 2007 Silver Folio Magazine Ozzie Award
-- 2007 Silver Nielsen Business Media Editorial Excellence Award for Best Art Direction

Earlier this year, the CSNews editorial staff also won the coveted 2008 Jesse H. Neal Award for best overall issue in its category. The Neal award is the highest editorial honor in the business-to-business media industry. CSNews has received more awards for its editorial quality than any other publication in the convenience store industry.
