CST Opens First of Four New San Antonio Stores

SAN ANTONIO -- A new Corner Store convenience store in the Alamo Heights area of San Antonio opened for business today. It is one of four new large-format stores by CST Brands Inc. that will welcome customers in the metro area this year.

The four new convenience store/gas station combos will create 60 local jobs, CST spokeswoman Melissa Ludwig told the San Antonio Business Journal. These stores are part of a 30-store buildout that the locally based retailer is planning across the southwest and west regions this year.

The 3,090-square-foot Alamo Heights location is built on the site of an older Corner Store that the company razed. This is CST's 121st San Antonio-area store.

CST Brands Inc. was spun off as an independent company from Valero Energy Corp. on May 1. It has nearly 1,900 locations in the southwestern United States and eastern Canada.
