Cumberland Farms Receives Great Place to Work Certification

WESTBOROUGH, Mass. — Cumberland Farms Inc. is at the top of its game.

The Massachusetts-based convenience store chain has received Great Place to Work Certification by the independent analysts at Great Place to Work.

Great Place to Work uses the results of a statistical employee survey, the Trust Index Employee Survey, and information provided by a company to analyze each organization and capture its employees’ workplace experiences in each Rating & Review. Ratings are provided in six areas that rate the quality of the company’s: challenges, atmosphere, rewards, pride, communication and bosses.

According to the Trust Index Employee Survey, 84 percent of Cumberland Farms’ team members said it is a great workplace.

The c-store operator received high employee ratings for its great pride and communication (tied at 93 percent), great atmosphere and bosses (tied at 92 percent), and its great rewards (91 percent).

Cumberland Farms offers its team members a number of perks and programs, like free beverages throughout the workday and an additional gas discount when they use SmartPay, the retailer’s fuel discount and loyalty program.

The company was also praised for its tuition reimbursement, which offers full time team members the eligibility to receive more than $5,250 annually — or $2,625 for part-time team members. It is also praised for its healthcare coverage, which requires just 30 hours per week for part-time team members to qualify for insurance.

In addition, Cumberland Farms was recognized by the Obama administration for its use of technology in engaging and connecting team members to leadership through its Farm Feed Team Member App, according to Best Place to Work.
