Damage Limited

TORRANCE, Calif. -- ExxonMobil Corp. said its 148,000 barrel-per-day Torrance refinery suffered no serious damage after a small fire broke out in a coking unit.

ExxonMobil spokeswoman Caroline Keith told Reuters that the 30-minute fire caused no serious damage, but that the company was still working to determine what effect it would have on operations and output.

Market sources said the effect on the 48,000 bpd coking unit, which is actually two cokers of 24,000 bpd capacity each, was expected to be negligible.
