Food poisoning is a much bigger epidemic than people know. Each year in the United States 48 million people are affected by foodborne illnesses. On average, 128,000 people (roughly the population of Cedar Rapids Iowa) are hospitalized. Further, another 3,000 Americans (enough to fill the New York Metropolitan Opera House) die.

Why is our food making us sick? Why is food putting us in the hospital, or worse killing us? The answer is, it shouldn’t be.

Addressing the core issues that promulgate foodborne illness is a challenge. The burden is global, but the resolution begins with each individual.

In this webinar we discuss:

  • The impact of individual human behavior on food safety.
  • HACCP plans and the disadvantage of traditional pencil and paper-based log systems and,
  • How the Internet of Things (IoT) technology can become a layer of defense against food contamination.

Additionally, we address the changing food safety landscape and the challenges many organizations face in ensuring compliance with the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA). We will discuss how restaurants, grocery and convenience store chains can embrace and enforce a stronger food safety culture and help eliminate human error and reduce liability by adopting new technologies. Register for this webinar and walk away with an understanding of tangible outcomes associated with the successful implementation and adoption of digital food safety solutions.
