NAPERVILLE, Ill. — Eby-Brown Co. LLC was recently honored with the 2014 Best in Cargo Security Award by CargoNet, the cargo theft database and information-sharing division of Verisk Crime Analytics.
The award recognizes CargoNet members that have demonstrated best practices in cargo security through the use of the CargoNet program in addition to their own security protocols.
"Eby-Brown has been a supporting CargoNet member for several years and has demonstrated a strong willingness to protect the freight of its customers from a security perspective," stated Anthony Canale, general manager of CargoNet. "Furthermore, the company understands that the impact of a cargo theft event far surpasses the loss value of the cargo and, by keeping its customers' products off the street, protects customer brands and keeps their supply chains fluid."
CargoNet and Verisk Crime Analytics provides crime prevention services for retailers, manufacturers, logistics companies, equipment owners, and insurance companies and offers data and analytical support to law enforcement. It offers a comprehensive suite of data management, analytic and theft prevention services that include prediction, mitigation, response and recovery.
"It's an honor to be recognized by CargoNet," stated Joe Pfeifer, vice president of loss prevention and safety at Eby-Brown. "Cargo security is part of the service we provide to our customers at Eby-Brown. Having the products when our customers need them and ensuring the safety of food products within the supply chain are important in our overall commitment to customer service."
