Enmark Stations Sponsors Wellness Lecture Series

SAVANNAH, Ga. -- Enmark Stations is hosting the ENCOURAGE HEALTH Education Series this year. The Savannah-based retailer is partnering with Healthy Savannah, the Savannah Morning News, Savannah Magazine and WJCL News to present the series of wellness lectures benefiting local nonprofit organizations focused on wellness.

The ENCOURAGE HEALTH Education Series will take place on the last Tuesday of the month in April, June, August and October. The series features presentations from area experts sharing insights on nutrition, fitness and general tips for healthy living. Each presenter will highlight five key points from his or her respective area of expertise.

On April 29, Paula Kreissler, director of healthy living and community development at Healthy Savannah and YMCA of Coastal Georgia, will talk about "Five Strategies for Busy Families to Stay Healthy." The selected charity for Kreissler's lecture is Girls on the Run.

On June 24, John Bennett, executive director of the Savannah Bicycle Campaign, will detail "Five Ways to Make Bicycling a Healthy Part of Your Daily Life." Proceeds for this lecture will go to the Savannah Bicycle Campaign.

On Aug. 26, Kerri Goodrich, founder and director of Performance Initiatives in Savannah, will explain "Five Ways Weight Lifting Helps Burn Body Fat." The selected charity for Goodrich's presentation is Performance Initiatives.

On Oct. 28, Bert Tenenbaum, corporate director of wellness at Reliance Steel & Aluminum, parent company of Chatham Steel, will talk about his "Corporation's Five Waypoints on Their Journey to Wellness." Proceeds from this lecture will go to the YMCA of Coastal Georgia.

The lectures will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the auditorium of the Savannah Morning News. Lunch and lecture tickets are $20 and can be purchased at the door.

Enmark will match all proceeds and present a check to the designated charity at each lecture.

Enmark is a family-run business with 59 convenience stores and gas stations in Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina.
