Evans Oil Partners with AIMS
MONROE, La. -- Evans Oil Co., a Monroe, La.-based marketer and jobber of Citgo products, has partnered with AIMS Inc., which develops automated data processing products for petroleum marketers, to implement electronic importation of Citgo bills of lading (BOL).
Using file transfer protocol (FTP), Citgo pushes an electronic BOL files across the Internet to Evans' accounting server. Under this new system, Evans' employees do not have to do anything in order for billing files to reach to the company's main accounting system. And since Evans Oil already uses AIMS' COMPAS accounting system, the new billing import module provides a seamless integration of data with all appropriate payables, sales, accounts receivable, tax, inventory and general ledger files.
The NAXML data file format was used for this project. The NAXML data format has been positioned to allow importation of bills from all of the major oil companies. The NACS Downstream Distributor and Retailer committee developed the NAXML format, and AIMS has played a key role in the realization of using NAXML data files for both credit card and BOL imports.
"Receiving and processing bills of lading electronically is another link in the chain of completely automating wholesale fuel transactions," said AIMS President Robert Canterbury. "We appreciate the cooperation that Evans Oil, Citgo and NACS have extended to AIMS to make this project a success. AIMS will continue to work with industry partners and our customers to produce the most complete set of transaction automation tools in the industry."
