ExxonMobil's Chief Tabbed API Chairman
WASHINGTON -- ExxonMobil Corp. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Lee Raymond has been elected the new one-year chairman of the American Petroleum Institute (API), the trade group announced yesterday.Raymond previously held the API post in 1996-97. His latest term at the U.S. oil industry's main trade group begins Jan. 1. Houston-based ExxonMobil operates more than 4,100 convenience stores in the United States."I look forward to this opportunity to again lead the nation's premier energy trade association, particularly now with the heightened emphasis on the need for a comprehensive national energy policy to enhance the nation's energy security and economic future," Raymond said.David O'Reilly, chairman and chief executive officer of San Francisco-based ChevronTexaco Corp., was elected as API's new treasurer.
