FAMIMA!! Opens One Store, Closes Another
TORRANCE, Calif. -- Calling its FAMIMA!! Premium Convenience Stores brand of convenience stores the "hottest new import from Japan," the company announced a grand opening celebration for its Belmont Shores location in Long Beach, Calif., the second location to open in the area in the past five months.
The store features hardwood floors, open displays and easy access to products. It also features dishes from the East and West, including traditional spaghetti and Asian-style fried noodles. Traditional Japanese dishes like bento boxes and omelet fried rice are available. More typical fare including grilled to order paninis, fresh sushi and soup is also available.
"Just two years ago, we were announcing the opening of our first store in West Hollywood; today I am proud to announce the opening of our Belmont Shores FAMIMA!!," said Shiro Inoue, president and CEO of FAMIMA!! Corp. "It's our mission to bring the same success that we've had overseas and make FAMIMA!! a household name here in the United States by serving the highest quality ready-to-eat products with the highest level of freshness along with a warm welcoming atmosphere."
A grand opening celebration will begin today and extend to April 15. Consumers there can fill up on snacks on their way to the Grand Prix of Long Beach.
"At FAMIMA!! we provide the highest level of quality and service to our neighbors and community. Our customers are our family. FAMIMA!! will always be there to lend a helping hand in the Long Beach community by supporting various events and organizations," Inoue added.
In other FAMIMA!! news, published reports on EaterWire.com state that a FAMIMA!! store in Westwood, Calif., has been shuttered. Reader e-mails alerted the Web site that the store had been closed recently. The location was open a little more than a year, according to the site, but there was no news of relocation.
