Fastrac Revs Up With Opening of Largest-Ever Store

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Fastrac Markets LLC opened its largest-ever Fastrac Cafe convenience store in Utica, N.Y., with an upgraded store model that will be implemented across the chain. The 5,600-square-foot store has 12 fuels positions and three high-speed diesel pumps for tractor trailers.

The new store — located at 1400 Oriskany St. West in Utica that replaced a previous model located less than a quarter mile away — offers an expanded array of products and services that include a drive-thru window, freshly prepared food and baked goods, online and in-store kiosk ordering, bistro-style seating, expanded grocery items and bulk foods, and an assortment of frozen drinks and other beverages.

"It's our largest store to date, and one of seven launched over the past 18 months," said Jim Allen, vice president of marketing for Fastrac. "We're proud to offer the Utica community a place that serves a variety of needs, whether it's picking up a cup of coffee or a gallon of milk at our drive-thru, stopping for a fresh breakfast sandwich on the run, sitting down to a toasted sub for lunch or carrying out a made-to-order pizza for dinner. It's truly a one-stop shop for travelers, commuters, local residents and last-minute shoppers."

The store held a special ribbon-cutting event that was open to the public on Aug. 5. Attendees included Mike Saxe, general manager of the store; Utica Mayor Robert Palmieri; Fastrac President and CEO Tom Waddle; Vice President of Marketing Jim Allen; Vice President of Operations Tom Wright; Vice President of Food Service Dave Hogan; Chief Financial Officer Sharon Parker; and other Fastrac personnel.

To commemorate the store opening, the Utica Fastrac Cafe will hold a variety of specials and promotions through the end of September.

Syracuse-based Fastrac owns and operates 44 convenience stores across New York State. The company also partly owns and/or supplies fuel to over 40 other locations throughout its service area.
