FFP Partners Proclaims Big Turnaround

FFP Partners L.P., which operates 424 NuWay, Mr. Cut Rate and Kwik Pantry convenience stores in 11 states through its FFP Marketing Co. Inc. subsidiary, said yesterday it earned $61,000 in the second quarter on total revenues of $1.055 million.

The earnings are a whopping 217-percent increase over the 2000 second quarter, which saw the company report losses of more than $52,000 on total revenues of $876,000.

The results for the first six months, however, are still down overall this year from the same period in 2000. For the first half of 2001, FFP Partners earned $144,000 on revenues of $2.14 million as compared to net income in the first half of 2000 of $251,000 on revenues of $2.33 million.

In addition to the convenience stores FFP Marketing Co. operates a fuel processing plant and terminal and Financial Express Money Orders.
