Flying Eagle Truck Stop Outsources Fuel Management Services

HOUSTON -- Flying Eagle Truck Stop signed a five-year contract with FuelQuest Inc. Under the agreement, FuelQuest Fuel Center will provide outsourced fuel management services including sourcing, replenishment, and reconciliation for Flying Eagle's three Kansas locations. Flying Eagle Truck Stop is a Roady's Truck Stops member, an association of nearly 300 truck stop owners spread across the United States.

"A volatile fuel market and competition from larger chains put pressure on my fuel business," Mike Sira, owner at Flying Eagle Truck Stop said in a released statement. "By outsourcing fuel management to Fuel Center, I gain access to an extensive fuel supplier and carrier network as well as industry best practices and expertise. Fuel Center allows me to offer more competitively priced fuel to my customers without having to manage the day-to-day fuel operations."

Fuel Center reduces fuel costs and ensures security of fuel supply for its customers, according to the vendor. The service utilizes a team of fuel experts and industry-leading FuelQuest Fuel Management System (FMS) software to procure fuel at the lowest price and deliver it at the right time. Acting as a supplier-independent extension of the customer, Fuel Center manages the full lifecycle of that fuel including management of multi-site inventory and verification of fuel, freight, and tax charges, the company stated.

"FuelQuest is excited to have Flying Eagle as its latest truck stop customer," Ryan Mossman, vice president and general manager of FuelQuest said in a released statement. "Fuel Center helps Flying Eagle and other truck stops optimize their fuel buying so they can compete more effectively, drawing more customers to the pump and inside the store."
