Flying J Purchases Texas Pipeline

OGDEN, Utah -- Flying J, Inc. has purchased all the ownership interests of Houston-based Longhorn Pipeline Holdings LLC, owner of the 700 mile pipeline system stretching from the Gulf Coast to El Paso, Texas.

Longhorn is a refined products common carrier, which owns a terminal that has more than 1 million barrels of storage. The pipeline transports refined products to markets in west Texas and the southwestern United States. The pipeline has an installed capacity of 70,000 barrels per day, but boasts an ultimate capacity of 225,000 barrels per day.

"I view it as a vital piece of infrastructure enabling Gulf Coast refinery production and water-born barrels available on the Gulf Coast to reach the rapidly growing southwest demand for motor fuels on a long-term basis," said Flying J president and CEO, J. Phillip Adams.

Flying J is a fully integrated oil company which employs more than 14,000 people across the nation through operations, transportation, refining and supply, exploration and production, financial services and communications divisions. Flying J's expected sales for 2006 will exceed $15 billion.
