Former Presto C-stores CEO to Lead Kansas Lottery
WICHITA, Kan. – Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback tapped former Presto Convenience Stores LLC CEO Terry Presta to serve as the new executive director of the Kansas Lottery, according to a Wichita Business Journal report. Presta is also a former state legislator who served in the Kansas House of Representatives from 1995 to 1999.
"Terry will be a great addition to the Kansas Lottery," Brownback said in a released statement. "He is bringing his wealth of experience as a Kansas Lottery retailer, a business owner and a former legislator. I am confident Terry will bring new perspective and energy to the Lottery as we focus on growing sales and increasing transfers to the state."
Presta will assume the executive director role effective Jan. 2, replacing interim director Sherriene Jones-Sontag, who will remain as deputy director. Former interim director Dennis Taylor, currently director of special projects, will retire at the end of this year.
"I appreciate the hard work and dedication of Sherriene and Dennis, both of whom have served as interim executive directors this past year," Brownback added. "Dennis has served the Lottery well and I wish him the best in his future pursuits."
Presto Convenience Stores operated 47 c-stores before The Pantry Inc. acquired the chain in 2010.
