Four GetGo C-stores Face Closing Dates

PITTSBURGH — Four GetGo convenience stores will be closing their doors for the last time in the coming weeks.

The stores join five supermarkets in Ohio, Maryland and Altoona, Pa., that parent company Giant Eagle is shutting down, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

The retailer will close two GetGo stores in Ohio — one in Columbus and one in Cleveland. The convenience stores, along with three supermarkets in Columbus and two in Cleveland, will be shuttered between Feb. 4 and March. 4.

The Pittsburgh-based retailer will close two additional GetGo locations in Altoona and in Frederick, Md., on Jan. 17.

Giant Eagle is also closing in-store pharmacies in two locations in the Pittsburgh area, the Pittsburgh Business Times reported.

According to the company, affected employees will be offered positions in other Giant Eagle stores.

Giant Eagle has nearly 400 retail locations in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia and Maryland.
