Fresh & Easy Plans for 18 More

OAKLAND, Calif. -- British retailer Tesco's Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market is expanding its reach in the U.S. as it revealed plans to build 18 new store locations to the Bay area of California, the company stated.
The stores will begin opening in 2009, according to Fresh & Easy CEO Tim Mason.

"Our stores have been well-received by customers in Southern California, Nevada and Arizona," said Mason in a statement. "Everyone wants fresh, wholesome food at affordable prices and we are confident Fresh & Easy will be a great addition to the Bay area."

Fresh & Easy currently operates 37 locations across Southern California, Nevada and Arizona, and plans to have 50 stores open in the U.S. by the end of February, according to the company.
