Frontier Reaches Deal with ExxonMobil

EL DORADO, Kan. -- Frontier Refining Inc. of El Dorado, Kan., has signed a licensing agreement with ExxonMobil Research and Engineering Co. for the use of a product called SCANfining.

The product is a gasoline sulfur reduction process for the production of low-sulfur gasoline and selectively removes sulfur while minimizing octane loss, say ExxonMobil officials.

Frontier operates a 110,000 barrel-a-day refinery in El Dorado and a 46,000 barrel-a-day refinery in Cheyenne, Wyo.
