Gilbarco Ships More Than 100,000 FlexPay Encrypting PIN Pads

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Gilbarco Veeder-Root exceeded 100,000 FlexPay Encrypting PIN Pads (EPP) shipped. Since launching the first PCI-certified solution for fuel dispensers in 2008, Gilbarco's modular PIN-pad and card reader solutions enabled retailers to meet PCI requirements and protect against credit and debit card fraud, the company reported.

"As fueling dispensers continue to evolve we are excited about the options we offer today and will continue to release going forward, not just with payment security, but also with digital media, alternative fuels, metering technologies, and more," Richard Browne, vice-president of marketing, North America said in a released statement. "Our new FlexPay UPT CRIND, our exciting partnership with Outcast Media for entertainment at the pump, Wisdom Intelligent Device Management and our DEF and ethanol dispensers are all part of Gilbarco's industry leading technology roadmap. We are excited to continue to work with our customers to develop products that help them effectively manage and grow their businesses."

The FlexPay EPP uses the Triple Data Encryption Standard (TDES), allowing consumers to use debit at the pump. Gilbarco received the industry's first PCI-UPT certification in 2010, and was the first dispenser manufacturer with a PCI-certified EPP, according to the company. It was also first to market with a secure encrypting card reader, and first to market with an EMV/chip & PIN solution for the Canadian market.

Gilbarco will be exhibiting its payment security products, including the new FlexPay UPT CRIND at the 2010 NACS Show this week at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Booth 1039.
