GoPuff Expands Delivery Service in Hometown
PHILADELPHA — On-demand delivery service startup goPuff is doubling its delivery zone in northeast Philadelphia.
The new expanded borders are Red Lion Road to the north; East Cheltenham Avenue to the south; east all the way to the water; and Pine Road west to the city line, reported Philly.com.
The 24-hour online delivery service last expanded in the city in August.
During the Memorial Day holiday weekend, goPuff will offer delivery in the extended delivery zone from noon to 4:30 a.m., seven days a week, and will be available all day every day after Memorial Day.
"We are really excited to increase our influence in the Philadelphia region," said cofounder Rafael Ilishayev. "As a Philadelphia-based company, we want to make our service accessible to everyone in the region."
The company hopes to add beer delivery in Philadelphia over the next few months.
Ilishayev and Yakir Gola launched Philadelphia-based goPuff in 2013 and initially delivered only 50 basic products before expanding the company to a full, on-demand convenience store delivery service in 2014, CSNews Online previously reported. Its primary customer base is targeted at millennials.
GoPuff's on-demand service delivers more than 3,000 products, ranging from college essentials, party supplies and smoking accessories to snacks, frozen foods and household essentials at normal c-store prices. The company charges a flat delivery fee of $1.95, with orders of $49 or more qualify for free shipping. Orders are guaranteed delivery in 30 minutes or less.
