Gulf Oil Extends Reach of Power Points Loyalty Program
FRAMINGHAM, Mass. — Gulf Oil LP is expanding its Power Points loyalty program to now include its branded dealers.
Power Points awards points to Gulf customers for everyday spending at more than 28,000 online stores, as well as many brick-and-mortar locations, including Macy’s, Target, Walmart and Home Depot. Customers can redeem their points for Gulf gift cards, or pay their Gulf Orange Card balances. As CSNews Online reported in February, the program began in the company's Gulf Electricity division.
The Power Points program carries no fees for Gulf retailers and does not require site or technology upgrades.
New to the program will be a strong promotion push, which will include pump signage, cashier handouts and a text-to-learn program beginning July 15.
“This exciting loyalty program is another important part of our ongoing efforts to help every one of our Gulf dealers succeed,” said Gulf Oil Senior Vice President and Chief Sales and Marketing Officer Rick Dery. “As one of the fastest-growing energy companies in the nation, we continue to offer impactful programs that keep customers loyal to our iconic brand — and add fuel to our national expansion efforts while increasing our market share.”
According to Gulf, the Power Points program will also “help drive incremental sales, increase stations’ Gulf Orange Card customer bases, expose them to thousands of potential new customers, and encourage inside spending by increasing savings at the pump."
Framingham-based Gulf Oil LP is a national branded supplier of motor fuels throughout the United States and its territories. The company distributes motor fuels through a network of more than 2,500 branded gasoline retail centers, 12 proprietary oil terminals and more than 130 other supply points.
