Gulf’s Return to Wisconsin Makes 32 States Served

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. and HOLMEN, Wis. — Gulf Oil LP’s newly penned partnership with Venture Fuels, a major fuel distributor in the upper Midwest, will bring the iconic Gulf brand back to Wisconsin for the first time in 20 years.

Gulf’s move into the "Forward State" furthers its ongoing national expansion and marks 32 states that Gulf now serves, the company reported.

The new partnership allows Holmen, Wis.-based Venture Fuels to extend the Gulf brand to the stations it serves in Wisconsin and Minnesota. The Zzip Stop gas station in La Farge, Wis., which has been owned by Shane and Emilee Nottestad since 2003, will be the first Gulf-branded site in the state.

“We are very proud to add the Gulf brand to our arsenal. Our partnership lines up perfectly with our goal of giving our customers the best fuel buying experience at the best prices possible,” said Venture Fuels President Dave Johnson. “To be the first ones to bring the Gulf brand back to Wisconsin is a pretty big deal, and working with small-business owners with the passion that Shane and Emilee have at Zzip Stop makes it that much better.”

Headquartered in Framingham, Mass., Gulf Oil LP is a national branded supplier of motor fuels throughout the United States and its territories. The company distributes motor fuels through a network of more than 2,500 branded gasoline retail centers, 12 proprietary oil terminals and more than 130 other supply points.

“Venture Fuels is a terrific partner for us as we continue our national expansion and move back into areas of the upper Midwest — including Wisconsin — that haven’t seen the Gulf brand in over 20 years,” said Rick Dery, senior vice president and chief sales and marketing officer for Gulf Oil. “We are very pleased to be providing Venture’s customers with quality products and services at competitive rates, and know we will have great success together. Wisconsin’s state motto is ‘Forward!’ — and that is exactly what we are doing as we progressively grow Gulf’s footprint across the nation.”

Meanwhile in Ohio, Lykins Energy Solutions earlier this month announced that it is bringing the Gulf brand back to Milford, Ohio, after a 45-year absence. In February, the energy provider and Gulf entered an exclusive partnership whereby Lykins can exclusively represent the fuel brand in the greater Cincinnati and northern Kentucky area.

The Milford Gulf-branded site will be where the former Jessee’s Shell site is, located at 771 Main St. It will be Milford’s first unattended fueling station and offer fast and easy fueling by using a credit or debit card. Milford Gulf will be a fuel-only location, open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
