Heineken Raises More Than $500K for Charities

NEW YORK -- Heineken USA reached a charity milestone through its "Heineken with a Heart" initiative. Since 2007, the collective effort of Heineken USA, distributors and retailers helped raise more than $520,000 in contributions for more than 50 regional organizations across the country.

The milestone was reached within the last two months as Heineken with a Heart hosted events in New York, Tampa, Atlanta, Chicago and Minneapolis.

Heineken will next kick off its inaugural sponsorship of the Tribeca Film Festival, an event benefiting the Tribeca Film Institute (TFI), a nonprofit organization that draws on the power of film to promote understanding, tolerance and global awareness. TFI also supports the cultural and economic revitalization of New York and Lower Manhattan through arts-based initiatives.

"Being an active and responsible member of the communities where our employees live and work, and where our products are enjoyed, is one of the foundational values of our organization," said Don Blaustein, president and chief executive officer of Heineken USA. "I am really proud of this grassroots movement. Not only does it allow us to channel our passions into a worthy cause, it demonstrates the value we place on our people and partners, as well as the causes they care about."

The Heineken with a Heart national philanthropic initiative was launched in 2007 in collaboration with Heineken’s local distributors and their retail accounts to build on a common commitment to giving back to the community. The events bring together business leaders, local personalities and neighbors for an evening of fun to raise funds for organizations that serve the communities.
