Holiday Stationstores Announces New Head of IS

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. -- Randy Skare will join Holiday Stationstores, operator of 420 convenience stores in 12 states, as vice president and chief information officer, succeeding Frank Garofolo who is retiring.

"Holiday Stationstores' continued growth and program development require an exceptional leader in IS to address our current and future needs," said Brent Blackey, president and chief operating officer at Holiday. "Randy Skare is a superb match for our requirements and an excellent successor to our CIO, Frank Garofolo. We are grateful to Frank for his 33 years of leadership in our organization. Under Frank's direction, IS has authored innumerable systems which have successfully and efficiently supported the operations of many of our divisions -- past and present."

Skare, who has been president of Continuity Consulting Inc., a Twin Cities-based IS consulting practice, begins his new role later this month, the company reported. Skare's career history includes director-level positions at Best Buy Inc., and he also worked at Holiday previously in several IS management roles.

Garofolo will continue at Holiday in a supportive and consultative role into 2008.
