Hy-Vee Expands Fuel Program
WATERLOO, Iowa -- Hy-Vee supermarkets is continuing to grow its fuel program with a new gas station in Iowa.
The Crossroads Hy-Vee convenience store and gas station, scheduled to open Tuesday, features 12 fuel pumps, fresh sandwiches and gourmet coffee, in addition to other traditional convenience store offerings. The Crossroads addition will be the 27th Hy-Vee Gas built by the employee-owned corporation, which has 44,000 employees and 216 stores in seven Midwestern states, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls (Iowa) Courier.
"We've had many customer questions about when it will open," store manager Jeff Sesker said. "The customers seem to be very excited."
Sesker expects Hy-Vee Gas to attract shoppers looking for discounts on gas prices. The store will offer specials and have grand-opening events, including giveaways for the first two weeks, beginning Tuesday. Hy-Vee shoppers can also save by redeeming store receipts at the station.
"If you have a receipt from the store, then we will give a certain discount for gas," Sesker said. "The discounts will vary. We will determine a discount for one day and everyone will get that discount."
Hy-Vee Gas will be open 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily and offers pay-at-the-pump for quick 24-hour fueling.
