Imperial Oil Improves Station Locator on Web site

CALGARY -- Imperial Oil launched a new and improved, interactive Esso station locator at esso.ca that utilizes the most current technology to provide easy access to information about Esso retail site locations across Canada and Exxon, and Mobil sites in the United States, the Digital Journal reported.

"We know people depend on us when they take a road trip," Simon Smith, vice-president and general manager fuels marketing, Imperial Oil, said in the report. "It's why we are so excited to help motorists find Esso stations in Canada or Exxon and Mobil stations in the U.S. This tool will also allow our valued customers to identify the specific retail services they need while travelling."

The locator uses state-of-the-art Google mapping technology and free-form, dynamic searching capability so customers can plan a driving route that identifies all Esso-, Exxon- and Mobil-branded stations in North America, the report stated. Additionally, turn-by-turn driving directions, real-time traffic reports, and the ability to find services such as On the Run convenience stores, Tim Hortons, diesel fuel, ATMs or a car wash have been added, according to the report.

Customers can also download station locations to their GPS devices directly from the Web site, which is compatible with leading consumer GPS devices, including Garmin, TomTom and Magellan, and the Web site features instructions and a video tutorial.
