It's a Summer of Store Rebuilds for Stewart's Shops

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. — Stewart's Shops Corp. is adding one new-to-industry convenience store and rebuilding 10 existing locations, with grand openings expected this summer.

"Construction season is in full swing for Stewart’s Shops, as we currently have 11 shops under construction," the convenience store retailer announced.

The projects are part of the retailer's $50-million investment in 2017. With the new builds, remodels and other shop improvements, Stewart's Shop is making its customers' "shopping experience even easier, and offer a wider variety of food and beverage options," it said.

Highlights of the new stores — both new to industry and rebuilds — include expanded c-stores and gas islands, pizza offering, made-to-order subs, beverage bars, and beer caves.

According to Stewart's Shops, construction is taking place in Clinton County (one location), Saratoga County (five locations), Schenectady County (one location), Oneida County (one location), Warren County (two locations), and Washington County (one location).

Saratoga Springs-based Stewart's Shops operates more than 335 c-stores in 31 counties across upstate New York and southern Vermont, with two thirds of the locations selling gas.
