Jiffy Mart Wins Business Breakthrough Award

WESTMINSTER, Md. – Jiffy Mart won a 2014 Business Breakthrough Award from the Maryland Chamber of Commerce. The annual awards recognize excellence in innovation, growth and the entrepreneurial spirit of Maryland's small businesses.

Winners accepted their awards on May 29 during a luncheon held at Ripken Stadium in Aberdeen, Md.

Nominees were judged on business and income growth, innovation, community involvement, excellence in industry and more. Representatives of Maryland's business media made up the judging panel.

"Small businesses are the heartbeat of Maryland's economy," said Kathleen T. Snyder, president and CEO of the Maryland Chamber of Commerce. "They take risks, solve problems, drive innovation and create jobs. Today, we're pleased to recognize a few of Maryland's breakthrough businesses."

Jiffy Mart, a division of Tevis Oil Co., operates four convenience stores and gas stations in Maryland.
