Kangaroo Express Signs on as Partner for Red Bull Races
CARY, N.C. -- Kangaroo Express will be the retail partner for the Red Bull Global Rallycross races in Charlotte, N.C., and Daytona, Fla., as part of its fourth-annual Salute Our Troops campaign.
The partnership is expected to recognize active duty service men and women at Rallycross events and charity motorcycle "ROO Rides." The Salute Our Troops program shines a spotlight on members of the military by enlisting donations for military support organizations at more than 1,530 Kangaroo Express stores through Sept. 2.
Kangaroo Express parent The Pantry Inc. will host more than 200 service men and women and their families at the Rallycross event at the Dirt Track at Charlotte Motor Speedway on July 26 and on Aug. 23 at Daytona International Speedway.
“Kangaroo Express will ride right along with Red Bull Global Rallycross this summer as retail partner at races across the Southeast,” said Colin Dyne, CEO, Red Bull Global Rallycross. “Our troops and their families make sacrifices for our freedoms every day. It’s an honor to have Kangaroo Express and its proven Salute Our Troops campaign."
Donations from the convenience store retailer's Salute Our Troops campaign will support the American Red Cross Service to Armed Forces, Fisher House Foundation, U.S. Veteran Corps and six state-based military support organizations.
“Thanks to the passion and commitment of our employees, Salute Our Troops continues to be successful, raising millions of dollars, and rallying communities and the customers we serve in support for those that serve our country and their families over the past three years,” said Gordon Schmidt, senior vice president of operations, Kangaroo Express. “It was passionate Kangaroo Express store associates and managers that developed the first ROO Rides back in 2011, and we are proud to partner their overwhelming success in these grassroots events with a leading name in motorsports, Red Bull Global Rallycross, as we take the motorcycle ROO Rides across the southeast.”
Cary-based The Pantry Inc. operates 1,534 convenience stores in 13 states under select banners, including its primary operating banner Kangaroo Express.
