Kim Bowers Honored by San Antonio Chamber of Commerce
SAN ANTONIO -- Kim Bowers, chairman, president and CEO of CST Brands Inc., won a Tribute to Women Business Leaders Award, given annually by the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce and Ford Motor Co.
The awards honor exemplary business practices and principles championed by the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce and Ford. A $1,000 scholarship will be donated to the college/university of Bowers' choice in her name.
Bowers leads San Antonio-based CST Brands, which operates 1,040 Corner Stores in the United States and 843 Dépanneur du Coin convenience stores in Canada. She previously served for 15 years at CST's former parent company, Valero Energy Corp., most recently as executive vice president and general counsel. She also chairs the United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County's Partnership for Community Change.
Also being honored with 2014 Tribute to Business Leaders Awards are Jane Phipps, founder of the Masters Leadership Program; Judith Markelz, director of the Warrior & Family Support Center; Asia Ciaravino, CEO of The Playhouse; Carri Baker Wells, chief operating officer at Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson; and Barbara B. Gentry, senior vice president of USAA Community Affairs (retired).
"These women exemplify what success means in San Antonio, not only because of their proven leadership skills in their industry, but also because of their profound impact on our community," said Rhonda Kolm Calvert, selection chairwoman for the 2014 Tribute Business Leaders Awards.
The San Antonio Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1894 and is the largest business association in its region.
